Hillsboro

July 12 — Reports of a reckless driver on US-56, suspicious activity in Memorial Park, and a commercial alarm in Hillsboro Heights were investigated.

July 13 — Unrestrained children were reported in a vehicle in Hillsboro Heights. A report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about possible child abuse was determined to be unfounded. A domestic violence report was taken at a hospital emergency room.

July 14 — Tresspassing was reported in the 500 block of E. 1st St. Police assisted with a child custody dispute in the 900 block of E. D St. and a curfew violation on D. St.

July 15 — Stalking and harassing were reported in the 500 block of E. D St. Suspicious activity was reported in the 500 block of E. D St. Police took an identity-theft report. A vehicle was reported being driven without authorization in the 400 block of W. Grand St.

Thursday —A child-custody dispute was reported in the 900 block of E. D St. Police assisted with a possible drunken driver on 190th Rd., and removed an obstruction from the roadway in the 300 block of N. Madison St. A person was reported missing in the 900 block of E. D St., but was located shortly after.

Friday — Police assisted with a protection-from-stalking order. An abandoned vehicle on 190th Rd. at the edge of town was towed. Police assisted with cattle out on Indigo Rd. A commercial alarm was reported in Hillsboro Heights, and police checked on suspicious activity in the 100 block of S. Main St.

Saturday — Police checked on reports of a suspicious vehicle in the 300 block of S. Main St., a probation violation in the 300 block of N. Ash St., where a sex offender was discovered in the company of two juvenile females, and a dog complaint at Washington and D Sts.

July 13 — Police took a report of a noninjury hit-and-run accident at Peabody Health and Rehabilitation. Reports were made of a dog at large and chickens nearby being killed were investigated. Charges are pending.

July 15 — Police took a complaint of disorderly conduct and public intoxication and referred the matter to the county attorney.

Thursday — Complaints of criminal damage to property and of aggravated domestic battery were investigated and referred to the county attorney.

Sunday — Curtis Downing, 50, of Wichita was arrested and charged with driving while his license was revoked.
