hillsboro

June 20 — Two children were taken into protective custody. A sick skunk was exterminated in the 200 block of N. Cedar St. A violation of a protection from abuse order was investigated. A citation alleging failure to stop at a stop sign and a warning for auxiliary lighting were issued. A domestic dispute was investigated.

June 21 — A child exchange was performed while a violation of a protection from abuse order was investigated.

June 22 — Clayton Lingenfelter, 18, Hillsboro, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault after police investigated a report of a person waving a pistol during a domestic dispute. An accidental public exposure incident involving a mentally challenged person, and a report of dogs at large were investigated. A speeding warning was issued.

Thursday — An alarm at Hillsboro High School and a non-injury accident in the 100 block of N. Madison St. were investigated.

Friday — A report of a pit bull within city limits was investigated. Two warnings for equipment violations were issued. A house in the 200 block of W. B St. was checked for criminal damage.

Saturday — A possible break-in in the 100 block of N. Madison St., an identity theft, and a dog at large were investigated. Traffic citations were issued for four equipment violations.

Saturday — A bicycle theft was investigated.

June 20 — A warning for an improper J-turn was issued near 3rd and Main Sts. Downtown businesses were patrolled on foot.

June 21 — Tyrone Vondal, 38, Marion, was arrested in the 200 block of E. Main St. for allegedly failing to appear in court violation. A report of a neglected animal in the 500 block of N. Coble St. was investigated. A dog at large in the 200 block of S. Lincoln St. was returned; its owner received a warning. A warning for no brake lights was issued near Roosevelt and Denver Sts. A non-injury accident was investigated in the 600 block of W. Main St. Downtown business’s doors were checked during patrol.

June 22 — A report of reckless driving near US-56 and Eisenhower Rd. was investigated.

Friday — A report of a dog tearing up trash in the 1100 block of E. Main St. was investigated. Suspicious activity was investigated on Cleveland St. Three warnings for no tag light were issued near US-56 and Remington Rd, and one was issued near US-56 and Eisenhower Rd. A warning for reckless driving was issued.

Saturday — A speeding citation was issued at the US-56/77 junction. Speeding warnings were issued in the 900 block of N. Cedar St. and near 3rd and Main Sts. A report of a possible theft turned out to be a misunderstanding. Two warnings for no tag lights were issued near US-56 and Remington Rd.

Sunday — Three speeding citations were issued on US-56. A warning for failure to dim headlights was issued on US-56.

June 20 — Police took a report of burglary, theft, and criminal damage to property at 806 N. Olive St.

June 21 — Xavier Jabary, Peabody, and a juvenile were charged with consumption of alcohol by a minor. Charles Ontiberos was charged with driving under the influence and transporting an open container.

June 22 —A burglary was reported in the 300 block of N. Spruce St.

Sunday — Three juveniles were charged with burglary and criminal trespass. One also was charged with possession of stolen property.
