Police step up enforcement of seatbelt law

Marion Police Department and other law enforcement agencies will step up enforcement of seatbelt requirements around schools starting March 11.
In 2012, 43 teenagers lost their lives in car crashes in Kansas; 74 percent of those killed were not using a seatbelt.

The fine for not using a seatbelt is $10 for adults.

For children and teens younger than 18, it is $60.
