Power off again Friday

Marion will go dark at 11 p.m. Friday for a second time this week, as workers complete upgrades to the city’s electric substation.

Power will be shut off citywide from 11 p.m. Friday to 2 a.m. Saturday so workers can disconnect lines from a temporary substation installed Tuesday and reconnect them to the permanent one.

The ballroom at Marion Community Center will open at 10 p.m. Friday for those who need electricity for medical needs or who need a place to stay warm until the transfer is complete.
