Pratt wins 36-hole county challenge
Staff writer
Nine teams played 18 holes Friday morning at the Marion Country Club and then another 18 holes in the afternoon at the Hillsboro Municipal Golf course to complete the 36-hole tournament.
Unfortunately, Sterling, Marion, Wichita Homeschool, and Wichita Classical did not have the necessary four golfers to qualify for team scoring so only five schools made the team board overall. Pratt won first place and Hillsboro placed fifth.
For the individual standings, including all 36-holes, Grant McAtee representing Pratt, won first place.
Hillsboro’s Lincoln Wichert placed tenth, Bryant Dalke in 17th, Annaliese Jorgenson in 19th, Josh Siebert in 27th, and Owen Dalke in 31st.
Representing Marion, Anthony Potocnik placed 29th, Matt Basore placed 35th, and Karsen Kroupa in 36th.
“Although our scores were not bad, we did struggle a bit over at Marion during the morning round,” Hillsboro coach Scott O’Hare said.
“As expected, overall we had a much better afternoon at Hillsboro on our home course.”
Golf regional’s begin on Monday, May 15th, with location and time being announced later this week.
