Pre-holiday blood supply lowest in 10 years

The American Red Cross is experiencing its lowest supply of blood the agency has seen at this time of year in more than a decade.

Donors are urged to continue making and keeping appointments to build up the blood supply before the Thanksgiving and holiday season.

Donations will be accepted Nov. 12 in Marion and Nov. 23 in Lost Springs.

In Marion, the blood drive will be 1:15 to 6:15 p.m. Nov. 12 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 415 N. Cedar St.

Donors who give at the Marion blood drive will be entered for a chance to win an expense-paid trip for two to Hawaii that includes a $1,000 gift card.

Donors also will get a $10 gift card by email.

The Goessel blood drive will be 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 23 at Centre High School, 2374 310th Rd.

Donors at this blood drive will get a $10 gift card by email.

Appointments are being accepted online at and by phone at (800) 733-2767.
