Pregnant woman shoved from car
en route to hospital
A pregnant Marion woman was shoved against a window, then pushed out of a car while being driven to be checked at a hospital last week, police said.
Her boyfriend was arrested on suspicion of aggravated battery and domestic battery.
Police chief Tyler Mermis said the couple lived together in the 600 block of E. Main St. After an altercation in the home, during which the boyfriend shoved her against a window, the woman said she needed to go to St. Luke Hospital to have the baby checked.
While driving her there, the boyfriend allegedly pushed her out the door of the vehicle, causing injuries, including cuts, Mermis said.
The boyfriend, Beretta Janzen, 22, was arrested shortly after the incident at 5:50 p.m. July 11.
