Prehistoric Kansas to be topic of museum talk

“Kansas B.C.,” a presentation about prehistoric inhabitants of Kansas, will be 7 p.m. July 23 at Goessel City Building.

Wichita State anthropology professor Donald Blakselee will lead the discussion, sponsored by Cottonwood Crossing Chapter of Santa Fe Trail Association.

“Consider what was not here: no cities, no roads, no mechanization, no domestic animals other than the dog,” Blakeslee said. “It is easy to imagine that the small human communities that occupied Kansas for thousands of years would have existed in relative isolation — focused on hand-to-mouth experience — but nothing could be further from the truth.”
