Program brightens holiday for seniors

Any senior who could use a holiday boost can get one through an Emprise Bank program called the Silver Angel Tree.

The program is for Marion County seniors age 55 and older.

Participants receive a Christmas gift donated especially for them.

Each year, a tree in the bank lobby is decorated with “Silver Angels” nominated for the program.

Donors select a Silver Angel and shop for a suggested gift.

To nominate a senior, fill out a nomination form and return it to Emprise Bank in Hillsboro. Nominations are to be made by Nov. 20 so donors are able to pick out an angel by Thanksgiving weekend.

People are even able to nominate themselves.

Nomination forms may be returned to Emprise Bank by mail to P.O. Box 100, Hillsboro, KS 67063 or by dropping them off at the bank, 104 E. Grand Ave. in Hillsboro. A night drop is available at the bank as well.
