Thelma Blosser wore her prom dress, and she, Lucille Bitner, and Janet Bryant wore tiaras in honor of the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markel at a “make-up meal” May 19.
Harlow Warneke grilled hamburgers, and Jan Wiens made cupcakes.
In addition to watching the wedding on television, center patrons signed a wedding card and included meal tickets in case the royal couple ever visits Marion.
The group also sang “Happy Birthday” to Bitner that day. Joan Meyer brought treats for her birthday May 23.
Norma Kline provided coffee cake, and Shirley Moore brought in a bouquet of irises when members of the county senior center board visited May 18.
In addition to serving as a weekly volunteer, Teresa Eads will become the center’s official substitute cook.
