Prom season begins Saturday

The season for high school students to look their fashionable best is ready to begin this weekend. Marion, Hillsboro, and Goessel high schools will have their annual formal promenades Saturday evening.

Centre and Peabody-Burns high schools have proms scheduled for April 21.

The theme of Marion High School’s junior/senior prom this year is “Young Forever.”

The promenade will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday at Eastmoor United Methodist Church. A banquet, dance, and after-prom party will follow. The after-prom theme is “Lights, Camera, Action Movie Night.”

Hillsboro High School’s prom theme this year is “Black-Tie Affair.”

The banquet begins at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church. The promenade will be at 7:30 p.m. at the east end of the high school, followed by a dance. An after-prom party will be held in Wichita.

Goessel High School’s promenade is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the school. In case of rain, students will enter in the east door of the school and walk through the high school gym. The theme is “Red Carpet Romance.”
