R. Floyd Woosley

R. Floyd Woosley, 92, of Herington died March 4 at Herington Municipal Hospital. He was born Aug. 1, 1920, in Herington to Elmer L. and Cecelia C. (Metty) Woosley.

He was a mechanic and handyman. He served in the U.S. Army after graduating from Herington High School in 1938.

He married Geneva M. Lampert on Aug. 16, 1942. She preceded him in death.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Richard W. Woosley; four brothers, Bernard, Harold, Earl, and Walter Woosely; and a sister, Mildred Marr.

He is survived by two daughters, Vicky Farres of White City and Cynthia Johnson of Winona, Texas; a daughter-in-law, Jeanne Woosley of Marion; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was Friday at Woodbine United Methodist Church with Pastor Carol Moore-Ramey officiating. Burial was at Sunset Hill Cemetery. Visitation was Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home in Herington.

Memorial funds have been established for Woodbine United Methodist Church and Hospice of Dickinson County.
