Have you ever watched the TV show, “Survivor.” The cast lives in primitive areas. I don’t watch it except every once in a while. I don’t like to watch people eat worms or fight snakes and wild animals. However, I am a survivor in a different category. About 60 years ago, I was told I had breast cancer and had drastic surgery. In those days, they didn’t take small portions, but cut away everything within a block of the “villain.” I did go to Wichita for a series of radiation treatment. What I’m saying is that you can survive. I just want to encourage people who are facing treatment. So if you are faced with this problem, have courage.
Changing the subject, I’m reading “Winds of War” again. It was about World War II and how different families went through those days, especially the Jews. It’s a huge book. I hold a pillow on my lap to support it. It is going to be a long read.
I remember the Great Depression after World War I. President Franklin Roosevelt took charge and rescued us. I think we now are suffering from a depression. I think we thought wars were over. We never learn.
All of our extreme spending and our joyful living have come to an end. I hope President Obama can get us out of this bad time. He is trying. We all need to help. We have lost faith in a good many wealthy people who took advantage of the times and helped to put us in this terrible situation. We helped.
