Here is a neat item I read in the paper, sort of apropos to young people returning to college. A young man returning was assigned a room. His father had accompanied him. He noticed the number of the room seemed very familiar. On further investigation they found it to be the same number of his room in college. The college had 3,000 rooms so what is the chance they would get the same one. I have heard that there are no coincidences.
I just now was interrupted by a phone call from my sister, Marge from a place in Colorado. She, my daughter Wanda, and granddaughter Karen are staying in a beautiful place on a lake. They had just come from enjoying a bath in the hot springs. I’m jealous.
I guess we are getting moisture from Ike, the hurricane that is hitting the coast of southern Texas. A terrible storm! Does water do more damage than tornadoes? I think so.
I have been watching the candidates perform on TV. They need to keep track of every word they speak. The media loves to catch a mistake. I feel like the winner will have earned that honor.
I finally got to see the new athletic complex. Wow! What a great place. There were several town people in the pool. I’m glad they are enjoying it, as well as I’m sure the students and children do.
When I was in girls’ college, I belonged to a swimming club. We were competing with another club. In order to win points, we had to dive. I was scared to death, but finally did it. That was my first and last dive.
