Randy's Music Jam at Octoberfest

Lincolnville will be celebrating its 140th anniversary Oct. 6 at its annual Octoberfest celebration.

Marion County Economic Development is sponsoring the appearance of Randy’s Music Jam at 4 p.m. onstage in the park.

Randy Sauer of Hays is an elementary school music teacher. He began his interactive show in 2008. Randy’s Music Jam has performed at festivals throughout the state including the Kansas Sampler Festival and the Midwest Kids Fest in Overland Park. Sauer performs regularly at libraries, as well.

Other activities and entertainment

The day will begin with a fun run at 8 a.m. Breakfast will be served from 8 to 10 a.m. at the community center by the Centre FFA chapter.

The Alex Stuchlik Polka Band will perform at 9:30 a.m. on stage in the city park, where arts and crafts will be available.

Registration for the 11 a.m. parade will begin at 10 a.m. on the corner of Main and Lombard streets. Crowning of a prince and princess will take place there at 10:30 a.m.

Activities at the park will include hourly medallion clues and drawings beginning at noon, a 1 p.m. co-ed volleyball tournament, and a 1:30 p.m. pumpkin-decorating contest.

Entertainment will be provided at 2 p.m. by Steve Jirak, 3 p.m. by Lana’s Dance Studio, and 4 p.m. by Randy’s Music Jam.

Grand prize raffle drawings will be at 5 p.m.

A beer garden will open at 6 p.m. at the community center, and a dance will begin at 8 p.m. A three-man rock band from Topeka, Simply Driven, will provide the music.
