Reading program offers prizes for kids, adults

Kids will have what librarians say will be a whale of a time reading books and winning prizes in an “Oceans of Possibilities” summer reading program at Marion City Library.

Children from pre-school through those completing 8th grade can win prizes for reaching reading goals.

Weekly scavenger hunts, games, and activities also are planned.

A separate “Reading Bingo Challenge” will allow adult readers to be entered in drawings for gift certificates after completing lines of different reading choices.

Both programs will begin Monday and continue through July 15.

June’s downtown Marion storywalk will continue the theme with pages from the book “The Rainbow Fish” posted in store windows.
