Rec commission elects officers

The Marion-Florence recreation commission elected officers and an at-large member Tuesday.

Jordan Metro will be president. Bart Peace will be vice president. Erin Whiteman will serve as secretary. Deanna Thierolf will be the at-large member.

Metro announced that Sunflower Wind had given the commission $20,000.

The commission also talked about pickleball games, which will start March 5. Cost will be $30 per team. Games will continue March 12, 19, and 26 culminating in a tournament April 2. Games will be played in the middle school gym.

Pickleball likely will appeal to adults, as will senior fitness classes that the commission discussed.
