Reservoir cleanup also Saturday

Volunteers are needed for the ninth annual Marion Reservoir Cleanup Day 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

The cleanup, led by Mudpuppy Stream Team No. 2642, will remove trash and perform cleanup projects in the Cottonwood River basin centered on Marion Reservoir.

Developed areas of the reservoir are used for boating and fishing but this man-made waterway is also a wildlife refuge lying directly in the central North American flyway.

For more information, call (620) 382-2006 or 382-2101 or come to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers office on the east side of the dam Saturday morning. Dress appropriately. Gloves, trash bags, doughnuts, and refreshments will be provided.
