Descendants of the Nees Louis and Cora Penland Olsen family met July 20 at the Marion Senior Center for a biennial reunion.

Original family members in attendance were Esther (Olsen) Dwyer and Cleo Olsen, wife of John.

Those in attendance from the Mabel (Olsen) Matz family were Margaret and Marlon Steinert of Raytown, Mo., and Alton and Evelyn Matz of Lincolnville.

From the Earl Olsen family, Rowena Olsen, Larry and Deana Olsen, and Helen Reznicek of Marion and Lori, Carey, Kayla, and Jake Jost, Wichita.

From the Ida (Olsen) Sandwell family, Lucy and Earl Janzen of Peabody, Marilyn Cook of Newton, Ken and Marge Sandwell of Marion, an Kathy and Benjamin Koop of Hillsboro.

From the Florence (Olsen) Perry family, Wayne and Virginia Perry of Franklin, Texas, and Floyd Perry and Leona and Leonard Nuessen of Wichita.

From the Clyde Olsen family, Jerry, Joyce, and Terry Olsen of Marion and Tom, Sherry, Bailey, and Rebecca Kaufman of Hillsboro.

The family was especially pleased that all 32 of John and Cleo Olsen’s family were able to attend.

The next Olsen cousins reunion will be the third Sunday of July 2010, at Marion Senior Center.
