Rita Alleven, 68 of Sioux Falls, S.D., passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2010, at the Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls after a battle with ovarian cancer.

Survivors include a daughter, Anita Alleven, Sioux Falls; sons, Gary (Barbara) Alleven, Marion, and Michael (Teri) Alleven, Sioux Falls; brothers, Pete (Dawn) Dubbelde, Hartford, S.D.; John (Linda) Dubbelde, Salome, Ariz.; Ted (Jean) Dubbelde, Custer, S.D.; Jack (Faye) Dubbelde, Chancellor, S.D.; sisters, JoAnn (John) Fleming, Sioux Falls, and Barb (Charles) Jongeling, Lennox, S.D.; six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation was at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 25, 2010, at Miller West Chapel, 41st Street and Valley View Road, Sioux Falls. The family was present from 5 to 7 p.m. A prayer service was at 7 p.m. on Monday, July 26, 2010, at Miller West.

A Mass of Christian burial was at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at St. Michael Catholic Parish with burial at St. Michael Cemetery, both in Sioux Falls.
