Robert F. Vahsholtz, 87, former Woodbine resident, died Sept. 12 at Salina Regional Medical Center.
Born Oct. 6, 1922, near Lincolnville, to Robert Martin and Lydia Sophia (Weber) Vahsholtz, he graduated from Chapman High School in 1940.
He retired from Fort Riley in parts and supply.
He married Lucile Munstermann on June 14, 1953. She preceded him in death Aug. 2, 1994. Two brothers, Herbert and Leonard, and his parents also preceded him.
He married Donna (Easter) Slayton on Dec. 23, 1994, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Herington. She survives.
Other survivors include a stepson, Carl Slayton of Woodbine; three sisters, LaVada Traskowsky of Woodbine, Dorothy Henry of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Evelina Ditzel of Woodland Hills, Calif.; and three stepgrandsons.
Services were today at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Herington, with the Rev. Troy Slater officiating.
Burial will follow in Lincolnville Cemetery.
