Roberta M. Seibel, 79, died Saturday at her granddaughter’s home in Olpe.

She was born July 4, 1933, in Wichita to Wilbur W. and Cora (Fitch) Carpenter. She was a member of and baptized at First Christian Church in Peabody. She graduated from Peabody High School in 1951.

She worked as a dental assistant, motel manager, and receptionist, and most recently in the fabric department at Walmart, retiring Aug. 19, 2010. She was active in the Red Hat Society.

She married James L. Seibel on Nov. 26, 1952. He preceded her in death on Sept. 8, 1987. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Lee Benward, and a sister, Shirley Edwards.

She is survived by a daughter, Debra Fuller of Emporia; and three grandchildren.

Her funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel, Newton, with Pastor Tim Mace presiding. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Newton.

A memorial fund has been established for Hardin Hospice Kansas.
