Ronald Stewart

Ronald Eugene Stewart, 69, died Nov. 6 at his home in Marion.

He was born Sept. 6, 1941, in Oklahoma City, to Ira Alfred and Laveita (Janeway) Stewart. He grew up on the family farm at Moore, Okla., and attended Moore schools first through fourth grades, then briefly moved to Lindsay, Okla., and Duncan, Okla., before returning to Moore, and graduating in 1959. He married Mary Lee Cloe in May 1959. They divorced in 1971.

At Oklahoma State University, he earned a degree in dairy nutrition and worked summers as a Bible salesman for Southwestern Publishing. He also worked for SMI doing motivational training.

On Feb. 11, 1972, he married Judith Anne Cox of Moore, Okla.

Ron had a long career working for Harvestore Feeding Systems in Oklahoma, Tennessee, Mississippi, Texas, Alabama, Nebraska, and Kansas. He created his own sales training company, wrote Christian books, and was pastor of Lighthouse Christian Fellowship in Marion.

His parents preceded him in death.

Survivors include the love of his life, his wife Judi Stewart; his brother, Larry Morris Stewart of Ponca City, Okla.; four daughters, Diane and husband David Worthington of Oklahoma City, Billye and husband Devin Meade of Moore, Linda and husband Reg Manister of Guthrie, Okla., and Shannon and husband Darcy Wedel of Great Bend; and a son, Michael and wife Gina Stewart of Apple Valley, Minn. Also Ron and Judi’s 11 grandchildren: Delaney, Ian, Nathaniel, Ethan, Reaghan, Jack, Kellen, Evan, Ruthie, William, and Emily as well as a niece, three nephews, and many other family and friends.

Ron was a very spiritual man who was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be greatly missed by all.

Please join in celebrating his life. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Marion.

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Nov. 20 at Resthaven Cemetery in Oklahoma City.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 606 N Main, Suite 202, Newton KS 67114, Marion County Emergency Medical Services, Marion Fire Department, or the American Cancer Society.
