Ruby Fern (Bliss) Pschigoda died May 11, 2012, at Parkside Homes in Hillsboro. She was born June 14, 1920, near Tampa to Henry L. and Clara (Moot) Bliss.
Her family moved around but always stayed in Dickinson and Marion counties. She attended country schools through the eighth grade.
She was baptized as a member of First Baptist Church in Dillon on Aug. 2, 1936, and later transferred her membership to Ebenezer Baptist Church in Dillon. She married Walter Pschigoda on Dec. 12, 1942, in Mineral Wells, Texas. After he left the U.S. Army, they made their home on a farm near Hope. In 1980, they retired and moved to Hillsboro.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Sept. 10, 1995. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, four brothers, and a son-in-law.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Klein of Tampa; her son, Lloyd of Hillsboro; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Sader of Lindsborg, Luella Tong of Augusta; and many other relatives and friends.
Graveside services were Tuesday at Ebenezer Cemetery near Abilene with the Rev. Morita Trumen officiating.Visitation was Tuesday at Carlson-Becker Funeral Home in Hope.
