Rufus Lohrenz

Public viewing for Rufus Lohrenz, 100, Hillsboro, who died Dec. 11 at Hillsboro Community Hospital, will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Jost Funeral Home, Hillsboro.

A private Celebration of Life service will be Saturday at Ebenfeld Mennonite Brethren, rural Hillsboro.

Born May 23, 1920, to G.W. and Maria (Penner) Lohrenz in Owasso, Oklahoma, he married Lois Hanneman on Aug. 9, 1955, at Ebenfeld Church.

Survivors include son Tim Lohrenz, Hillsboro; daughters Gail Kliewer, rural Hillsboro, Gwen Brown, Bethany, Oklahoma, Dawn Friesen, Udall, Tamara Friesen, Arlington, Texas; brother Otto Lohrenz, Omaha, Nebraska; 19 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.

Rufus’s wife, brothers, sisters, and son-in-law Bennett Brown preceded him in death.

A memorial has been established with M.B. Missions.
