Runners compete at Eureka

Marion High and Middle School “got that hardware” Tuesday at the Eureka Invitational Cross Country Meet.
Marion’s top middle school runner was seventh grader Zayden Janzen, who finished 10th in the seventh grade boys and girls race with a time of 6:59.
Behind him, Kaelynn Metro finished 16th with 7:53. In the eighth grade race, Jaxon Salbury finished 17th with 15:50, Keenan Lange finished 18th with 16:15, and Sam Calvert finished 20th with 18:56.
Sophomore Gavin Wasmuth took first in junior varsity girls and boys with a time of 18:58 for his second meet of the year.
Luke Wessel came in second with 19:22, Christopher Beery finished fourth with 19:48, and Tristen Dye finished eighth with 20:08. Hayden Mendoza finished 31st with 25:01.
Senior Heidi Grimmett finishing eighth in the 5K varsity girls with 23:20.
