Ruth Sheridan

No graveside services are planned for Ruth Janice (Metsch) Sheridan, 89, Newton, who passed away Thursday, Aug. 27, 2026, at her home.

She will be buried at Prairie Lawn Cemetery, Peabody.

Ruth was born Oct. 10, 1936, in Peabody to daughter of John T. and Margaret (Stokes) Metsch.

She graduated from Peabody High School in 1954 and married Duane R. Sheridan of Peabody.

She was an avid lover of dogs and enjoyed showing her Dobermans in many dog shows.

She is survived by her son, Randy, of Augusta. She was preceded in death by her husband, Duane, in 2013 and by a son, John, as well as her parents, John T. and Margaret Metsch, and her brother, John.
