A plane made an emergency landing Tuesday in Marion County.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, at around 1:30 p.m. a small plane flying out of the Newton Airport made an emergency landing just outside Peabody.
“It was in between Quail Creek and Pawnee Rd. around 20th Rd.,” master trooper Sammy Brooks said.
The plane was an older Piper aircraft used for training and was piloted by a flight instructor and a passenger taking part in a discovery flight.
Both occupants were uninjured and the plane was undamaged.
Along with Kansas Highway Patrol, responding units included Marion and Butler County law enforcement. Brooks said the cause of the emergency landing was engine failure.
