Scholastic book fair scheduled

Marion Elementary PAC is holding a Scholastic Book Fair March 1 to 8.

Each purchase helps put free books in classrooms and the library.

“Last fall I noticed a number of grandmas and grandpas coming in to buy books for their grandchildren,” elementary librarian Lori Kirkpatrick said. “We’d like more people from the community to shop and support the school.”

Kirkpatrick said funds raised also help support a program that provides a free book for each elementary student in May.

The public is encouraged to shop on these dates:

• March 1: 7:45 to 8:15 p.m. and 3:35 to 4:15 p.m.
• March 5 to 7: 7:45 to 8:15 p.m. and 3:35 to 4:15 p.m.
• March 8: 7:45 to 8:15 a.m.
