Scouting for food pick up is Oct. 1

Marion Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts will be putting bags on every door in Marion this week.

Inside will be a note asking for a donation for the Marion County Emergency Food Bank. The scouts ask that you place nonperishable food items in the bag and place it on your porch in a visible spot by 9 a.m. Saturday.

All bags should be picked up by 11 a.m. but if missed or put out late please call Jackie Palic at (620) 382-3757 or Terry Holt at (620) 382-2949 to pick them up.

Suggested items include toilet paper, ramen noodles, canned vegetables, canned fruits, gelatin, spaghetti sauce, noodles, and diabetic foods.
