Secret Santa leaves gift for shoppers

Staff writer

A secret Santa is leaving random gifts in Marion.

On an empty space on a shelf at Carlsons’s Grocery a zipper baggie containing a note and a card was found Friday afternoon.

The note read, “You’ve been RACK’ED! This Christmas season we are counting down the days by sharing random acts of Christmas kindness with precious people like you! We pray amazing blessings on you today. You are so loved! Bur God shows his love for us in that, while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8. @not consumed”

In the envelope was a $5 gift card to a local coffee shop.

The coffee shop, Zera Coffee, said it didn’t leave the gift.

Carlsons’s co-owner Greg Carlson also said he knew nothing about it.

The gifts apparently come from a follower of a Christian website, The site is dedicated to helping families build “a family culture rooted in a strong foundation of faith.”

One of its pages is about teaching kids giving gifts with cards that read the way the Marion card reads.
