Marion Senior Center
The first produce of the season came in this past week, including two big sacks of cucumbers. The center is allowed to use fresh produce in its daily meals as well as giving it to the dine-in customers.
The center celebrated National Day of the Cowboy July 24 with old western movie trivia, and some cowboy wisdom.
Joyce Jackson, Sue Clough, Neysa Eberhard, Estelle McCarty, Eileen Sieger, Connie Fisher, and Janet Bryant read cowboy poetry. The day ended with singing “Home on the Range” with Shirley Bowers as pianist.
Marilyn Geis gave a farewell speech July 28, as she has moved to Marion Assisted Living. She had been coming to the senior center for 24 years. She also gave a book review about American soldiers.
Gail Baldwin talked about new technology at St. Luke Hospital on July 29.
