Marion seniors welcomed Kathy Bernhardt as their new head cook last Wednesday.

Sue Gutsch has volunteered to work in the kitchen one day a week.

Thanks is given to Jerry Nelson for all the trips in August to pick up meals from Hillsboro Senior Center.

Madelyn Brown from Junction City and the area agency board came Aug. 26 to do the yearly evaluation of the center.

Madonna Schafers brought in salsa in memory of special members of her family.

Representatives from Butler County gave a program on foster grandparenting. Schafers, who once volunteered for the program, related her personal experience with it.

Trayce Warner of Florence will talk about her candidacy for Marion County Commission on Sept. 11. Other candidates also will be invited leading up to the November election.
