“Volunteers are the Heart of our Team” was the theme April 18 for Senior Center Day.
Cooks, delivery drivers, dining room help, those who check in daily diners, pianists, and others who make the center work were recognized. Sue Clough, accompanied by Keith Allison, led the singing of a song written for the day.
Clough led a business meeting to discuss fund-raising ideas.
Members of Bluestem Art Guild who displayed artwork at the center last week included Linda Keller, Lydia Gates, Mary Rogers, Keith and Norine Holtsclaw, Vicki Bailey, Denise Fetrow, and Mary Cleveland.
Edith Helmer brought treats for her birthday April 12.
Harvest House groups ate lunch at the center April 13.
Myrta Billings will begin a four-week series of presentations May 2 called “Eat Smart, Live Strong.”
Poem in Your Pocket day is April 26. Seniors are asked to bring a poem to recite or read.
