SENIOR CENTER: Museum artifacts displayed

Marion Senior Center

Senior center patrons had an Aug. 8 visit from Teresa Mills, who brought artifacts from Marion Historical Museum and asked patrons to identify them.

Because of an Aug. 2 power failure and lack of a dishwasher, the center used paper plates. Cruz Carraseo wiped tables, and card players played games like usual, squinting in semi-darkness.

Patrons enjoyed bouquets of roses and lilies brought in by Shirley Moore.

The lunch bunch came Aug 7. They requested lasagna.

A make-up meal will be noon Saturday and will include biscuits, sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, cranberry juice, and cinnamon rolls.

The center is in need of kitchen and dining room help who can provide a few hours time each week.
