SENIOR CENTER: Mystery produce

Marion Senior Center

A mystery object was brought in to the senior center by Harlow and Edith Warneke. It was round, yellow, and slightly prickly. Many attendees thought it was a gourd, but after it was cut open, it smelt like a cucumber.

The senior center recently celebrated birthdays of two patrons: Val Morgan on Sept. 18, and Harold Triggs on Sept. 23. Each brought in treats. Robin Nelson celebrated her birthday Sept. 22 by taking the day off as a volunteer at the center.

The program given Sept. 23 was presented by Amanda Sheesley of Hatfield Mobility.

The public is welcome to the center’s program on Oct. 7 when Darcy Bluma will do a presentation on Air Med.
