Watermelon day celebrated

Watermelon was served Aug. 3 to celebrate National Watermelon Day. Lucille Bitner shared appropriate trivia.
Shirley Bowers brought some cleomes, also known as spider flowers, to share.
Patrons learned about “Ebb and Flow,” an upcoming series of exhibits sponsored by Kansas Humanities Council. Chingawasa Springs is featured in the series brochure. Marion City Library will be an exhibit site in March.
Harriet Bina gave a presentation about Father Emil Kapaun on Aug. 9.
New county extension agent Tristen Cope will give a program Aug. 23.
Flu shots will be available at the center from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Oct. 10.
