Senior food boxes available

Seniors with gross income of $1,383 a month, or $1,868 for two, can sign up for monthly commodity boxes from the Kansas Food Bank and Marion County Food Bank.

The food program is available to people age 60 and older if their income qualifies.

The food boxes include a variety of foods such as nonfat dry and ultra-high temperature fluid milk, juice, farina, oats, ready-to-eat cereal, rice, pasta, peanut butter, dry beans, canned meat, poultry or fish, and canned fruits and vegetables.

To enroll, call Debi at the Kansas Food Bank at (316) 265-3663 for an application. The application must be submitted with identification, proof of income, and proof of address.
