SENIOR CENTER:   Seniors observe Flag Day

Marion Senior Center

Senior center patrons observed Flag Day by playing trivia and reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. Wana Williams also played patriotic and Western songs on piano.

Caleb Abbott brought treats for his birthday June 15, and Mary Hett brought treats for hers June 19.

Sue Clough conducted a business meeting June 20 for Senior Center Day. She announced that money donated by those who eat at the center had been “very satisfactory” and that a garage sale fundraiser is planned for Old Settlers Day in September.

Surplus government commodities, made available free to low-income residents, arrived June 20. Bob Crawford, Janie Westerman, and Sue Clough got them ready for distribution.

Classes, taught by Gayla Ratzlaff, on moving with balance will continue at 10:30 a.m. Thursdays. The center will be closed July 4.
