Tips on aging healthfully, mental health, talking to a physician about memory issues, and managing legal problems after money runs out were part of a Sept. 1 “Answers for Older Kansans” program in Marion.

Vendors shared information and visited with the 40 seniors who attended.

Peabody resident Bob Delk, 99, played guitar during a catered lunch. Cellist Susan Mayo and pianist Steve Hanneman performed with Delk while some women in attendance danced to old-time music.

Among the speakers were Erin Yelland, interim director at Kansas State University Center on Aging; psychiatrist Tina Mahal, older adult services director for Prairie View in Newton; program specialist Denise Vann of the Alzheimer’s Association of Central and Western Kansas; and Paul Shipp of Flint Hills Legal Services.

The conference was sponsored by North Central Flint Hills Area Agency on Aging.
