Seniors to hear about Flint Hills music

Traditional fiddler and chronicler of Flint Hills musical heritage Derrick Doty will present a program Oct. 20 at the 62nd annual meeting of Senior Citizens of Marion County Inc. at Hillsboro Senior Center.

Registration will begin at 11 a.m. A meal will be served at noon. Doty’s program will begin at 12:45 p.m.

Cost is $5.25 per person. Reservations are being accepted through Oct. 7 at senior centers and the county department on aging.

Donations to establish a scholarship for a high school senior going into a field related to aging will be encouraged.
