Theft of a generator

A Coleman generator and gas can were taken Oct. 16 at 2975 Diamond Road, Durham and reported stolen Oct. 23. Burtis Oblander of Newton reported the theft, which was valued at $350.

Battery

An individual or individuals contacted Ian A. Weisbeck at his home at 210 Sixth St., Durham, and asked him if he wanted to drink alcohol. Weisbeck said he did not and left his home. When Weisbeck returned home, the individual or individuals went to the victim’s house and struck the victim on his head and neck area. The victim left his home and called 911. When the victim returned home, windows were broken and the house had been ransacked.

Erratic driving leads to arrest

A driver was observed operating a vehicle in an unsafe manner at 6:40 p.m. Oct. 19 on U.S. 56/77 near Lincolnville. An investigation led to an arrest on charges of driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Thefts

Two businesses were burglarized Oct. 21. Someone entered Western Associates, 124 E. Main St., Marion, through a back door, rummaged through desks, and took $20 cash from a jar. Marion Dry Cleaning, 107 S. Second St., Marion, reported someone entered the rear of the building, taking quarters and tools. The suspect caused $200 in damages to the doors.

Criminal trespass

Someone entered an apartment at 1078 Chisholm Trail Road, Goessel, Oct. 26, and went through drawers and cabinets, moving items around. Nothing was reported missing. Jason Bargen Tracy, who lives on the property, owns the building.

Criminal damage to property

Unknown person or people peeled the street address off a mailbox Oct. 26 owned by Shaun Eugene Ridder, 503 N. Ohio, St., Burns. The vandals also removed three of four screws that held the mailbox to a post. The loss was valued at $30.
