Skinner descendants meet

Nearly two dozen descendants of William and Margaret Skinner and James and Amanda Skinner attended the 80th Skinner reunion Saturday at the home of Judy and Jim Ahrens in Manhattan. 

William and James were brothers who migrated from Iowa to Peabody and La Harpe in 1896. 

In attendance this year were Virginia Skinner, Jennifer Young, and Mackenzie Young of Peabody; Alex Young, Wichita; Beth, Mark, and Rhett Sullivan, Lawrence; Janet Breithaupt, Don Skinner, and Connie Strand, Overland Park; Madison and Derek Haug with Maia, Cora, Kaden, and Emmett, Manhattan; Doris Herbert, Gainesville, Texas, with grandsons Holden and Ethan Herbert of Dallas; and Donna Skinner Nelson and Ken Swisher, Lindsborg.

Jane Schloot, Manhattan, was a special family guest.
