Smooth start for Trojan softball

Hillsboro returns five starters from last year’s team

The Trojan softball team will be returning five starters from last year, and all of them are considered vital for the team’s success this season.

The returning starters include Kori Arnold, Kirsten Kluver, Keeley Brewer, Delaney Lucero, and Anslee Brewer.

Other players who have potential to make an impact this season are Faith Cummings, Skylar Voran, Cassidy Bernhardt, Keitra Edwards, Hailey Miller, and Trysta Miller.

“The first two weeks of practice have revealed great attitudes and hard work, top down,” coach Alyssa Kroeker said.

It was bitterly cold most of those days, but not a single girl complained about being cold or not wanting to do things in practice.

“I’ve never started out a season so smoothly before,” she said. “I have girls who want to learn the game and get better at the game, which is all a coach wants.”

Kroeker is excited to see what this team can accomplish this year.
