Stay-at-home order issued

A statewide stay-at-home order was issued Saturday by Gov. Laura Kelly. The order will be effective from 12:01 a.m. Monday through April 19.

Residents still are allowed out to get food, medicine, or other household essentials, to receive medical care, to care for loved ones at other locations, or to exercise.

All other activity outside the home is discouraged.

People violating the order will not be arrested or fined. Compliance is voluntary.

Businesses performing essential functions may remain open.

These include drive-up windows at restaurants, food stores, liquor stores, pharmacies, hospitals and clinics, news media, service stations, and, of course, all public safety services and trash pickup.
