june

June 7 to 9 — Chingwassa Days, Friday: community barbecue, 5:30 p.m., ice cream social, 5:30 p.m., Titans of Tribute Motley Crucial, 7 p.m.; Poison Overdose, 9 p.m. Saturday: Pancake feed, 7 a.m. Events and food all day, Country singers Dylan Delk, 6 p.m.; Justin McCormic, 6:45 p.m.; Cameron DuBois, 7:45 p.m.; and Dylan Scott, 9 p.m. Sunday: community church service, 10:30 a.m.

June 8 — 21st annual car show, Memorial Park, Hillsboro. Registration 8 to noon; cost is $20 plus one can of food for Marion County food bank. Awards ceremony at 3:30 p.m.

June 14 to 15 — Bluegrass at the Lake, Marion County Park and Lake. Friday: open mic night. Saturday: silent auction, cornhole tournament, Bluegrass music on the main stage beginning at 3 p.m. $5 for age 13 and up.

June 15 — 12th annual antique classic car, truck and motorcycle show, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Goessel. $10 exhibitor entry fee, free admission.

july

July 4 — Peabody 4th of July celebration.

July 6 — Ramona Independence Day celebration. Basketball tournament, 9 a.m. Horseshoe tournament, 10 a.m. Lawn art, 11 a.m. Pinup contest, noon. Pet walk, 2 p.m. Mud volleyball, 2 p.m. Parade, 6 p.m. Watermelon and pie eating contest, 8 p.m. Fireworks, 10 p.m.

July 24 to 27 — Marion County Fair, Hillsboro. 4-H and FFA exhibits, parade, rodeo, demolition derby, and more events.

July 26 — Glow Run 19, 1 mile and 5 kilometer courses, Memorial Park, Hillsboro, 9 p.m.

august

August 2 to 4 — Country Threshing Days, Goessel. Parade on Saturday. Threshing, sawmill, and field demonstrations all three days.

September

Sept. 2 — Florence Labor Day.

Sept. 21 — Hillsboro Arts and Crafts Fair, downtown Hillsboro, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Marion’s Art in the Park, Central Park, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
