Seniors active in quasquicentennial

Sunflower Senior Citizens decided to have a float in the quasquicentennial parade Aug. 25 and to sponsor an event. The decision was made at the group’s business meeting and program July 10 which was hosted by Raymond and Janet Bielefeld. Reece and Addie Beren provided a program with demonstrations and readings prepared for 4-H.

Also present were Leo and Sue Yanda, Tom and Dee Duggan, Mary Clemmer, Adeline Bernhardt, Leona Kleiber, Shirley Zaideman, Michele Berens, and Jane Vajnar.

Jim and Kris Srajer, Grant, and Cole were July 11 visitors of Tillie Hein.

Lucille Kerbs enjoyed dinner out with Jeremy and Allison Sluder and Brooklyn on July 7.

Tom and Lori Moldenhauer were July 10 evening visitors of her parents, Frank and Anna Mae Stika.

John and Jeanne Rziha, Michael, Christopher, Joseph, Timothy, Thomas, Charles, Anna, and Henry of Atchison were weekend guests of Jerry and Jeanne Rziha, Susie, Cecilia, and Julie. Christopher and Tim stayed until July 11, when Julie took them home with the intention of spending a few days with their family.

Deb and Kaylee Hall of Herington and Tom and Dee Duggan spent the weekend visiting Darla Hall and Adam in Lee’s Summit, Mo.

Adeline Bernhardt accompanied Walt and Iona Dietrich to Ramona the evening of July 8 for fun night.

July 8 dinner guests of Paul and Edna Backhus were Tom and Bev Reid of Marion, Mike and Jennifer Jay and Cody of Hillsboro, Brad Backhus, Jason Backhus, and Alisha Barney.

Lynn and Peggy Kleiber of Salina were July 8 afternoon visitors of Leona Kleiber.

Many people from the Tampa community attended funeral services for Milton Kaiser at the the Lutheran church July 7 in Lincolnville.

Glenn Kerbs of Dodge City was a July 6 supper and overnight guest of his mother, Lucille Kerbs. Glenn went on to Topeka July 7 to get acquainted with his new grandson, Porter Kerbs.

Jim and Mary Clemmer of Salina were July 5 overnight guests of Mary and Ron Clemmer. They were en route to Missouri where they will be taking care of her father who is recuperating from an accident.

Becky Routh and Melody Routh of Augusta, Chris Granzow of Lakeland, Fla., and Cindy Vinduska of Marion were visitors of Leona Kleiber on July 5. Terry Vinduska of Marion joined them in the evening for supper in Lost Springs.

Jane Vajnar visited Sara Bennett, Gavin, and Ian on July 5 in Hillsboro.

Sydney Smith of Pilsen spent July 5 with her great-grandmother, Lucille Kerbs.

Lorraine Havlik of Marion and Adeline Bernhardt had dinner July 5 in Marion.
