The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League met Nov. 7 at the church with Phyllis Mueller as hostess. Pastor Clark Davis led the lesson, and Joyce Medley gave opening and closing devotions. Others present were Kathy Davis, Janet Bielefeld, Adeline Bernhardt, Leona Kleiber, Betty Mueller, Phyllis Mueller, and Edna Backhus. The current officers were re-elected to serve in 2013. They are Kathy Davis, president; Betty Mueller, secretary; Janet Bielefeld, treasurer; and Joyce Medley, Christian growth chairman.

Deb Hall and Kaylee of Herington and Tom and Dee Duggan attended the funeral of Jacquie Sjodahl at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Herington on Nov. 7.

Mary Clemmer visited with Collin Bailey of Ramona at the polls on Nov. 6.

A good crowd turned out for the first game night of the winter Nov. 4 at the senior center. The community Christmas party will take the place of game night in December. The event on Dec. 2 will feature open house at the businesses on Main Street, a soup supper, and entertainment by the Cottonwood Valley Band.

Rustyn Kerbs of Hillsboro and Lucille Kerbs were Nov. 4 dinner guests of Russ and Julie Kerbs.

Leona Kleiber spent Nov. 2 through 4 with Dean and Becky Routh and Danielle of Augusta. Danielle was a member of the cast of “The Wizard of Oz,” which was presented Nov. 1, 2, and 3 by Christian Youth Theater Wichita. Leona, Dean, and Becky, along with Holly Routh and Easton, attended the Nov. 3 performance. On Nov. 4, they all ate dinner at a Wichita restaurant.

Tom Duggan attended a junior high school basketball game at White City on Nov. 5 to watch his granddaughter, Kaylee Hall of Herington, play.

Rachel Daniel of Beckingham, U.K., was a Nov. 2 overnight guest of Doyle and Kara Wiebe. She spent the rest of the weekend with Jonas and Kim Frantz.

Lucille Kerbs visited Connie Thompson and Taylor in Abilene on Nov. 3. Allison Sluder and Brooklyn joined them for dinner out.

Georgia Spohn met Lenora Graham and Paulette Zook of Florence in Hillsboro on Nov. 2 for Lifelong Learning at Tabor and dinner out. Nancy Jo Leachman of Salina presented a program about her collection of cotton flour sacks, which reveal a lot of history.

Lucille Kerbs and Dorothy Ensz of Hillsboro ate dinner out on Nov. 1 and visited Mildred Steinle at Parkside Homes.

Halloween supper guests of Frank and Anna Mae Stika were Lori Moldenhauer, Ronnie and Lisa Hanschu, and Anna and Shelby Deines. The occasion was a belated celebration of Lisa’s birthday.

Bev and Tom Reid of Marion, Mike and Jennifer Jay and Cody of Hillsboro, and Edna Backhus attended a children’s carnival Oct. 28 at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church. Cody attends a preschool there.
