Community will participate in program

Tampa council decided Dec. 13 to participate in the Leadership Marion County program. The council discussed those who participated in the past and the impact on the community. Tampa PRIDE President Cheri Bentz will be consulted for a candidate.

The Rev. Clark Davis requested support from the council for Tampa PRIDE program. A resolution was approved.

Jane Vajnar, of Sunflower Senior Citizens, told the council street signs were becoming less readable because of wear. The seniors are willing take down the signs and repaint them as a project. The council accepted the offer.

Tampa will participate in the county Neighborhood Revitalization Program.

Rock will be placed on a newly installed culvert.

Halogen lights had been purchased for the city tractor. Don Zaideman agreed to replace them.

Bills approved for payment included $167 for rock, $85 for hauling rock, $185 for a permit from Kansas Department of Health and Environment, $180 to repair a refrigerator at the senior center, $91 for work on a sewer pipe, and $25 for repairing a plugged toilet in the public bathrooms.
