Theater fundraiser Sunday

Readers Theater and St. Paul’s Kaffeehaus are planned for 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 212 E. Division St. in Peabody.

Admission is by donation. Proceeds will go to Sunflower Theatre Foundation.

The coffee house will feature locally sourced coffee, a variety of hot and cold drinks, cookies, coffee cakes, danishes, and more.

Attendees will be serenaded by local musicians, including Peabody Elementary School’s Bucket Band, folk singer and former Hillsboro High School student Eva Nobel, guitarists Aaron Yoder and Derik Conrad, and Virginia Skinner and friends.

The afternoon will conclude with a theatrical performance by Becki Yoder, Sharon Pickens, Julie Ensminger, and Stephanie Ax.

“This will be a nice time to come together, enjoy coffee and music, and visit with friends,” Susan Mayo said.

Ann Leppke has scheduled activities to keep the community focused on the theater restoration. Architect Warren Ediger has been hired to help with fundraisers and grant applications.

Work on the building’s exterior is scheduled to begin in March.
